being a part time dad and it being my last mornin of the holidays with my son b4 he heads back to his mum we decided to get 1 last fish in this mornin,so we had the boat in the water by 5.15 at manly and headed over to the rous for a few whiting,1st rod i chucked in had a squid jig on it and b4 me or the young fella could get our lines in we had a squid on ,pulled it in and threw it back out by this time my son had the 1st ting in the boat and i hadn't even got my bait on,put my bait on and b4 i could throw it out we had another hookup on the squid jig,so my young fella pulled it in as he had never caught a squid b4 so he was wraped,fished till 9 then back in for a quick change of clothes for the young fella and back to mum,ended up gettin 32 diver whiting between 23 and 27 cm, a flattie going 43cm a pike kept for bait and 7 squid, good feed for a few hrs,young fella drove back across the bay doing 30knots with a grin from cheek to cheek

rosco, nice work on a good feed. Good conditions today i was over that way aswell, and i love a flat ride home. Ended up with 4 BIG sandies from green no fish but. Your boy will want 2 drive all the time now! well done

didn't u take any rods huskii,1st trip in a long time u never got any fish,bugger,i recon the crabs will show in a few numbers bout the 20th of feb,

just hope your youngfella's half as keen as mine,he loves fishing and crabbin,the little bugger nearly outfishes me every trip now,have u heard how robin went, apparently he was out today as well

Rosco, took Baz out to the rouse sat, left manly about 8am, went to rouse, ended up with 76 whiting, used squid for bait, rather than gulp worms, as the squid was fresh, only got 1 squid, wind kept changing direction, had the sea anchor out and didnt keep the jig in for long
a mate took a friend out fished further out than we did, and only got about 20
dont know how i did it years ago, catching couple of hundred and having to fillet them

good feed robin,we had fresh squid as well but found the little reefies chewin there heads of on the squid,on the gulp worms we where gettin alot more whiting than the little reefies,

in the shallower water we were getting the baby reefies, but when we moved to deeper water 22ft to over 30ft, it was only the occassional reefie
might give it another go wed, as looking good, and off down the coast this weekend so no fishing
