    Re: Kolan River

The Kolan River can fish well the mouth produces good queenfish, tarpon, trevally taylor and small mackerel on the beginning of the incomeing tide.
Whitting and flathead on the sandbars { plenty of yabbie holes] jack and fingermark up around Yandaran Creek.
The Kolan can be a bit hard to navigate at low tide lots of sand bars.
Two ramps one on the southern side at a place called Boolyan but I wouldn't use it a lot of stealing happens here. The best ramp is on the northern side at Miara.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers Foxie

Spent last week there. Lots of good size bream up to 40cm, a couple of cod up to 80cm, flathead and whiting, and one nice grunter that went 56cm.
The highlight but was livebaiting from the beach for sharks. They would smash the livie , thrash on top of the water, jump and just go nuts. We got them up to a metre and kept a few and thay tasted great.
We also ran four pots which produced heaps of muddies.
