What are we doing wrong? - Shark fishing

calypso bay at jacobs well. either nite or day.
live bait is the go. can get bait at behm creek on the way.
i find mullet works best. u can drive the car rite to the edge of the water. sum times there is security but not often.
if u dont get a shark and u should u will probally get a cod. there is heaps there. cant troll 50m in the yak without gettin a cod.
80lb leader 6/0 blackmagic circles. avoid wire. keep baits as alive as possible. berley would help. sinkers if needed.

I'm headed out land based tomorrow, typed calypso bay into google maps, are you talking that inlet bay with the marina in it?

Any advice for a rig? (Happy with cod, shark anything really)

yeh thats the one. just down the road from jacobs. i fish in the canals not the marina. but yes that is thier marina.
i prefer just a hook with a livie on the end but u mite need to tie a patanosta rig if the current is strong. if ur chasing cod 25lb leader, try around the drains for them alot of them live in the drains all through out the joint. if ur chasing sharks 80lb leader unwieghted if possible.
wen the current is strong i use a 1oz snapper lead on a patanosta rig.
any live bait is good otherwise strip bait frozen mullet.

fingermark

jew

big big toadies
big mullet
stripped scat(really nasty buggers)
............ heaps of fish there
wen its on its great wen its dead its still not bad.
look in the marina, there is usually a big school of mullet showering the surface.....
