This question is for the Cairns lads. I'm just wondering if any of you guys have fished the 50mtr Chanel behind (North Eastern Side) Green Island and if so, how did you go?
I've attached a photo from my Carting software to show you where I mean.
I want to head out there but not sure if it's worth a try or not,

I've had a couple of goes through there at different times. There a lots of little bumps etc that have shows of bait etc on them. We picked up a couple of big mouth and reds but not heaps at night time. At different times of the year you might do alright.
Only way to find new ground is to have a go.

I've only got access to a 4.8m Boat so my options are fairly limited, I figured there may be some reds in amongst there.
Fingers crossed the weather comes good soon.
Guaranteed there will be some there, finding them when they want to bite is the problem IMO.
From my fairly limited understanding of the region bite periods can happen at any time but spending 12 hours in each likely spot and awaiting what may never come is simply not on for most of us.
Best case is turn up to each spot prepared with live bait as the inducement, if not possible try and get some Berley to the bottom directly under the boat...man that is sooooo much harder to do well than to write.
With luck you might turn up during a daytime bite period, this might have been sparked by some unseen carnage down below berlying the spot and it will most often not last very long but at least you will know they do hold at that particular spot.
The tides for drifting or berly are not great this weekend but the wind forecast looks ok ATM.

Not sure if I believe seabreeze on the weather for this weekend. I'll wait till BOM puts up their forecast and fingers crossed I'll be out there having ago.

I usually head out to Vlasloff and Pretty Patches then fish the wreck on the way home, I've never seen any boats in that area so that's why I was curious if it's worth a go.

I've been told, but I'm not sure where it is, but there is a channel through arlington that come out near that area. If you knew where it was it would be a straight run from pretty patches across.
That was from a bloke I used to work with who was a pro trout fisherman.
