Another successful guiding session on hinze by myself..
Hit Hinze dam on New Years day with a mate.
It was only going to be a very short session so we didn't move to far from the ramp.
I had to test out my new christmas presents, some new custom Rods from Steve Duff, so I thought this was the perfect chance to test out my new Christmas presents.
Started fishing topwater and on the 3rd cast it was smashed by a half decent bass. A few minutes later and I was was singing the praises of my new 1-4kg Kustom spin stick. Awesome rod I can’t believe the action on these rods and they are such a pleasure to fish with.
We later moved down to another bank and I noticed a fair bit of activity in the middle dam down the arm we were in. I knew it was toga playing around but they are hard to find.
So i changed lures from topwater to deep diving crankbait and was on almost straight away. A few leaps later and a nice small healthy toga lands on the deck. A beautifully marked fish and a nice small specimen to start the year off.
We later headed back to the ramp where I nailed another good bass on a tn60.
Was good to see the toga are out in force and with any luck I might start hitting the dam a bit more this summer.
I am extremely pleased with my new xmas presentsand what a way to start the year.
Cheers
Lee

We were in the eastern arm mate.
Nah mate I live in Brissy but am more then happy to travel down to fish Hinze when I can. I don't have a "leccy only" boat so I have to deckie for others that do, becuase I really like fishing the place.
