The Political Scene - Whats Happening???

I see our representative political parties have gone very quiet. Websites not being updated and no new official information coming forth with the looming election this year.

I did hear recently from a reliable source that The Fishing Party will definitely be running two candidates for the Senate in Queensland in the next election. No names at this stage.

Is there any information out there as to what is happening because that election is coming up faster than people may realise.

A couple of months ago the AFLP announced at a rally/meeting here in Cairns that the good doctor (sorry forget his name right now) will be running in FNQ and a to be announced candidate for SEQ.

I was a booth worker a few years ago for the AFLP/FPQ when the doctor last ran.

    cheers fnq

I thought he was a Senate Candidate. If so Senate Candidates represent Queensland as a whole not the FNQ and SEQ.

As I was gently reminded in another thread...

Many of these guys have a Legal background, so they are used to knocking off in early to mid December and coming back in mid January, I guess.

    Cheers,

Kev is hiding under a rock, hes done stuff all with education, health workplace reform etc and now Copenhagen blew up in his wormy little face hes been exposed to the world as the mouse that roars. Whenever the heat is on he trots Gillard Swan and Wong out to peddle his snake oil. Sure as $hit in a duck but he'll be out with a whole new list of unachievable promises before the next election , hell he fooled the majority of Australians last time. Abbot needs to lift his game too, he's got plenty to shoot at but appears to be keeping his powder dry.

Always wait until your target is well within range before pulling the trigger. Closer they are, the longer they are in range. Even when they turn and run, they are still in range for longer, the closer they were. I dont think Abbot is as silly as he once was.

All over yesterdays news reports.....Abbott is going for a private members bill on wild rivers this February just goes to show any representation is better than none and could even be enough...does he think he will have enough support.... really interesting scenario and a tantalising glimpse of what democracy once was.
