    Brissie river to Bli Bli

Haven't fished to much over the break , either the wheathers good and I can't fish or the wheather crap and I can so I've only fished the brissie river for a bream session and scored a few with the quanity on the up but today for a change we fished Barra park at Bli Bli. I'm impressed and what a great place to take your kids for a play around and for them to catch a fish. As a newbie it seemed there may be a few secrets we need to sus out but hey it's only a pond with anyone likely to score a fish and just have a dam good time I did pull the small hooks out of a reasonable barras mouth. Just as it was beat and about to throw in the towel the little size ten hooked pulled out. We dropped a couple of fish and found those little hooks a problem but hey it's just a fun way to kill a few hours and not to be taken to serious. In fact i'm looking forward to going back with a few of my little nephews and giving them a fun arvo. A couple of decent bream in those ponds to, so treat it as a bit of fun and take your kids there.

Re: Brissie river to Bli Bli

Nico, didn't have a brag mat there mate but I would say I was surprised as the biggest one I lost would have been around 8 bl and no mate we knew our daughter was close to the big day so we were up for a family party and home quick with an overnight stay.

Vertico, yes mate wasn't to sure what the go was so we went in blind and had a play around. those barra certainlly sus the pellets out, with the wind blowing it seemed more productive to fish light leaders and avoid line drag that creates a ripple off the floating pellet and keep them interested with a berley of crushed pellets. It was fun tho. Just reminded me of my childhood fishing with bread in the local creek

Marty.. hi mate been a bit slack , been scoring a few lizards and bream and taken a few blokes out for a couple of lure sessions before xmas, Lost all the pics on the camers on one occasion. Looking forward to settling into 2010 and getting into it

The kids remind you how old we are all getting. Well done on yah grand child. That barra farm takes a bit of getting used to with those little hooks and pelletts eh. I found my mate caught more on his mono and me less with braid and find leader. Weather has been a bit crappy but same as every other year break. Well done on getting out with the family and son and have good 2010 Chief.

    Hi Chief,

Also a big congrats mate on becoming a Pop. My old man tries to be cool by calling himself G-Pa but the 2 year old won't have a bar of it.

Mate just wondering what you thought of the Barra Farm? I have thought about going a few times with my 2 nephews ( they are 6 &7). Would you recommend it or is it a bet pricey and how hard is to catch fish there? I have read to many mixed reports on Aus Fish and would appreciate your feedback.

    Cheers
