    Hinze 30.12.09

Finally got my boat on the water back on Hinze after a few months of not being able to make it. Had a friend of mine, Frank, over from overseas and he was keen to see Hinze and have his first lure casting and bass session. There was a few factors that was making it look like a promising session so I planned to fish an area I had not been to for many months and we ended up with quite good results. Frank did well landing 4 bass and a huge fat catfish and I ended up with 3 good bass. Frank best was a 43cm and I managed a 45cm. Frank did really well with one of my most reliable old Hinze lures, a customised G-Vibe. All fish fought hard and were in great condition. By the way, the temporary boat ramp has been extended some 3m but it is still just out of the water. Most cars will be able to launch with the back wheels just on the concrete and since the other day the level has increased further. Only a couple of pictures from my phone camera. - cheers Richard

    Hey Richard how's things?

Nice to see healthy fat bass coming from the dam.
Have been in Bris last year or so and haven't fished the dam at all. Waiting on build of my boat that I will be able to go to hinze with - definitley miss it up there - and the background in your photo says it all!

    Well done

Cheers Richard and Thanx for the PM, I'm heading out early tomorrow with Stu (stuart db), going to give the Western Arm a go as we've never fished it and thought it might be worth a shot, hoping the 'ramp' is accesible after all the rain, guess I'll find out soon enough!!! Nath (Breamnut) at Nerang Bait & Tackle tells me there's been a few Toga's caught recently on surface lures too, would be stoked to add one to my list!!! Will let you know how we get on, Cheers, Jamie.

Hey Franco good to hear from you again. I know what you mean even after a couple of months of not getting out is bad enough. You forget how special it is until you get out there again and how lucky we have to have on our doorstep.

Jamie, all the best today. Look forward to hearing how you go. Maybe will see a Toga on your list after today.
