Tried to get to blackrock but mate was not keen on roughing it in his new 4 wheel drive. Turned around and tried cocoas creek boat ramp. Set 6 pots out for crabs and baited up. Very quiet except for crabs (undersized ) stealing our bait. Once the tide started to flow the bites started. Small bream were picking.
After an hour a bigger bream at 29cm. Soon after my line peels off and I hook up. Straight after the hook up my handle on the reel falls off. The fish is jumping and line is being lost. By this time i am trying to get line back 1 revolution at a time with the friggin handle falling off every 2 winds.
This goes on for about 5 minutes and 5 jumps later I net a 79cm QUEENIE. happy with that tussle. Put the rod and reel away and soon after that the other rod goes off and I land a 40cm Trevor.
The quiet sets in so home we go. My first time to cocoas creek...........
Fish for dinner
