Thread: Fishing the Wreak

    Fishing the Wreak

Left the harbour just before 3 am to a sloppy NNE heading to some red ground north but change our plans and decided not to slog our guts out for 60 km so ended up fishing a local wreak for a mixed result. The daughter scored a nice Cobia on a mullet while winding up from the bottom. Flicking a few taipans around seen some nice spotties and one undersized spano arounds the traps with a lot of dropped macs on the spin gear .
We followed up the rest of the day with some nice reefies including spangled grassy Parrot and trevalley.
Just making it home just after 2pm when it begain to rain most of the afternoon then.
Holidays start on wednesday so hopefully the weather will play the game and i can get my family memebers out for a fish

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Great stuff!! thats what it's all about, love the pic of your daughter holding the Cobe, yesterday we took the boat out to some inner reef areas snorkelling, today after the experience my 5yo daughter is behaving extra well centered possibly for the want of better wording.
Far superior to anything of society's urban 'activities' has given her yet....looking forward to her first cobe.

    cheers fnq

    Re: Fishing the Wreak

She loves her fishing but getting her up at 1.20 am in morning she sleeps like a sloth till she gets some energy and it kicks in.
She fought the king for a little while but couldn't handle it after awhile and dad had to do all the hard work lol
And she caught the only trigger fish she is the Trigger fish king
She had a chance to test her new wetsuit out while we got saltwater at Myall for the fillets for a quick snorkle she'll end up being my spearing buddy
