Your bored!
Im climbing the walls!
I am gg gg ggoing ffrriigggin NUUTTSS my right arm all of a sudden flicks all by it self, I tie a clip on and connect it to the dog and kick it, every peice of string, twine or rope is in knotts, I decorated the xmas tree in B52's and Vipers, and at carols by candle light I sat the singing with a head torch glow stick foxie shirt shorts and thongs humming hollow belly part of the plastics family song...
HHHEELPPP
It will be 8888888888888mts in February since I've been to Mondy......Every lure has been rehooked and ringed......all the placcies have been modified to within an inch of their lives.....checked and rechecked........All my reels have been dismantled and serviced.........all knots retied checked and retied with a smidgen of Loctite supaglue......Yep I'm friggin bored shiteless

What you blokes need is a good dose of barra fishing (ABT Barra tour) - with such a concentrated dosage ..... it is a sure fire way of easing the IBD symptoms ..... for at least a few weeks
To answer your question Whitto ..... I still use twisties but at a much lower rate
( spin gear .... I use either twisties or wind ons)
Personally...... I'm undecided if it puts off barra or not + since switching to Schneider clear mono - the bite off rate has decreased significantly.
I also now use a different knot which run through the guides much better.

Yeah I better answer the question mate iiiiiiiiiiii bloody arm went again! I do have the twisties in the tackle box and may pull them out if we head to the hall of chrome in feb but light timber or point no need to worry too much but as you know the hall is thick and once the levels drop to under twenty% up in that area its log city
Cheers Nath
Whitto i have a few reels that need servicing if you are looking for something to do i also got to sharpen my tent pegs to get them in the cement that they call the mondy camp ground

Whitto, Only now on the spin gear. And only because the guides are very small on the Diablo. Does it put the fish off ? Well surface has been the method of late Frogs and x walks using spin.. The leader is very visible... but l am happy with the results ie casting,hookups...
Thanks Trev........I agree I don't think Barra are put off in anyway by the leader when it's time to dine.......a short twisted leader would give you better control over the surface method (30/40cms) IMO.......years ago I use to use JE Leader setup with no failures........these days like to tie my lures on as opposed to a clip.

G'day Greg,
Kyle & I used Jack Erskine Twisties for a year or so but noticed a big decrease in strikes/hook-ups plus it made tuning lures very difficult as each leader had a slightly different weight.
We have now gone back to mostly single strand 60lb or 80lb leader which has increased the number of strikes/hook-ups but we now seem to lose more fish due to abraded leaders.
We came to the conclusion that we would rather have more hook-ups and more lost fish as a result than little or no action. Result in 2009 - five trips to Mondy and no donuts!

Interesting observation Pete, I went away from the T/Leader and clip concept as I saw it as a possible failure point although it never happened.......went to the perfection knot for a better swim action and lure balance.
I'm easily pleased when it comes to Barra, I don't necessarily have to boat a Barra to get the big buzz.....I'm happy as if I hookup and see the fish......I have been know to stand off and watch Deano and Nath nail barra one after the other..(Maybe I should do a Lyndon and buy myself a video camera).........Nagg made a good point about Schneider line lowering his bite off rate......Look into Pete there maybe something in that........Thanks for the reply Pete.

Cant take any credit for the schneider thing ........ the Awoonga boys started to use it some time back & Trev gave me some to try a few months ago - 55lb (0.8mm) & 80lb (0.9mm) - certainly more abrasive resistant than the mainstream products & a hell of a lot cheaper

funny thing that I literally have the tree decorated with the pretty new classics I got from foxies NICE!
you can't just say "different knot" and leave it at that NAGG?
Whitto, used to use twisteds but have not bothered for a long time. I used to make my own which I am still happy with and never had one fail. But like most have just gone to good quality single strand. I do have twisted in the tackle box and would tie one on in the event the single strand was failing. I am a fan of the KISS principle.
