    Sorry Nagg we tried !

During the ABT Chris lost his Certate and Diablo outfit over the side. So today Danial and l tried in vain to recover it..The area was shallow but very weedy and about a meter of black silt on the bottom .Sorry mate it was to no avail. But that place now has a new name Naggs Bay.. On the way home we stopped for a bit of frogging . Lots of fun

Shame you guys couldnt find it, A+ for effort though Christmas spirit perhaps?

Was the fish in the pic caught on a frog Trev? I'm moving away from the Horny Toads a little....bought a few packs of the Strike King Rage Tails, these things really churn the water up!

That back must be feeling a lot better Trev???

Must have been good to get out though.

Did you survey the water surface before you went for the swim???

Perhaps you should have looked for the Lanolin slick on the surface first.

    Cheers,
    John.

I lost a rig overboard once, took a note of a landmark, then trolled sideways with the tackleback open to drag along the bottom - AND GOT IT BACK...YEAH.

    Sorry Nagg - my condolances!

Trev ......Thanks very much for your ( & Danial's) efforts - much appreciated. ( I did't hold too much hope after the first attempt ,,,,, 5feet of weed & 10foot of water)

Fortunately though it was only a spin outfit ...... though one I was starting to enjoy using.

The pain has been eased somewhat when I picked up a new Certate 3500 (& spare spool) out of the states for around 50% of the local price .......

Now the hunt begins to find the ideal barra spin rod

    chris

PS ..... thanks Cindy for your condolences
Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Nice rods Brian (& reels) - though typically the landed price will be around the same as a Samurai Reaction here ......... which is better ?????? ..... both are excellent rods

Re: Sorry Nagg we tried !

Yes Chris i feel your pain,

A couple of years ago i was up the Pine River and was having a good time until i lost my Shimano Stella 2500 on a 7 foot T-CURVE rod.

What happened was, i had a few fish in the live well that needed some fresh water so i placed the rod in the rod holder and turned the pump on the refresh the water and i turned around just in time to see one of those large terns swoop in and grab thge plastic that was swinging about 18 inches down from the rod tip.

The bird just had enough power to lift the rod out of the holder and drop it in the water, mate i was shattered, over a thousand dollars worth of gear goonneee.

Three boats dragged grapple hooks for two days in the area, we pulled up plenty of old crab pot frames and other rubbish but no sign of my pride and joy.

I still get bad dreams about that mate so i can guess how you feel.

    Cheers,
    John.
