    Noosa GT's

    hi all,
woke up early this morning so decided to go try for a trev. not long after i got down there i saw some decent fish smashing something. that made me confidant and not long after i hooked up on chug bug, good little fight and i landed the first GT of the morning.
after a few more big chops with whitewash going everywhere i saw they were chasing big tiger prawns. one of the prawns got smashed in close and ended up on the bank. i ran over and got it before it kicked back in the water.
over an hour i caught 4 the best going 48cm, then it went dead like what its normally like at this spot.
good fun on poppers and 6lb braid.
    all fish released

Hmm I wonder what the possibility of cast netting those prawns is? And where to cast?

    Cheers

Mate I hooked one yesterday that I couldnt stop..!!

Hasnt happened to me before but this thing just didnt stop and I couldnt turn him at all.

Ended up going around a jetty pylon and I couldnt do much about it.

    G'day mate,

What time did you get down there? And what sort of technique were you using with the poppers? I fish the bridge fairly regularly but only ever with bait, but I'm keen to try some lures in the river after having my first success the other week with them.

    Cheers

Mitch, yeh i dunno about cast netting for prawns maybe at night?

Matt, yeh could be worth a trip up for sure but they can be real hit miss might take a couple trips before you get them in the right place at the right time.

Pete, sounds like you hooked a big one....G.T?? this morning by the splashes i think there were some solid ones cruisisng around maybe not as big as the one u hooked but

jonno lucas, i got down there about 4:30 and just did a constant blooping retrieve
