Catching Garfish around SEQ

Many thanks for the garfish report, nice to see some larger species. The 30cm, are they sea-gar?

Wouldn't mind catching a few sometime.

No they are just very large river gar. I've often caught a few sea gar off the Shorncliffe pier during the winter, mixed in with smaller river gar, but I've never caught any sea gar at Mud.
By the way, are you still chasing longtom? There are hundreds of them in the Bribie passage at the moment

Yes, still chasing longtom for the project but don't have access to a boat at this stage, might be awhile, thanks for the info though.
