    Yes. You can turn it on with the transducer cable disconnected. Switch the unit to demo mode and you play with all of the settings while she sits on the trailer. I did it for an hour or so and got the hang of it pretty quickly.

    yeh no problems to do this for 5 minutes or so but really if you want to play just put the unit in demo mode.

    no need to disconnect transducer ( I do it on my 585/1kw and did it on my last boat which had a 620)

    It says not to in the instructions as it may damage the transducer. I have had a play in demo mode. Can anyone tell me what a scope does for ya???
