    Pine still firing!

I've only been fishing the Pine about once a fortnight lately, although with all the strong northerlies we've been having there aren't many other options for a small boat on the northside. Tides were good this morning so I thought I'd have a shot before it got too hot. Launched at DWB just before 5.00 a.m. - was the first trailer in the car park at that hour. Ran up to the freeway bridges and anchored in the shade, with the run in just getting a go on. Plenty of bream about throughout the rise and the turn at the top. Caught about 55 all up - kept 20. A few reasonable fish amongst them - best went 34cm. Back at the ramp by 10.30 and home by 11.00. Nice morning's effort. Only problem was I used my last packets of frozen prawns from last summer's cast netting. Looks like I'll have to put in a bit more effort next time!

No - the way I fish the bream is very specific and I only catch bream in this location using this method. If you fish a little wider you can catch the odd flathead and jew (and even the occasional estuary cod at times). There are also often small tailor which will take other baits and a few pike in the winter, but when I fish this location I'm just chasing bream.

The prawns are starting to gather too. I got about 50 or so on Sunday. Not a lot but a good sign of things to come.

A nice catch of bream Freedom. Should get quite a few feeds out of that lot.

    Good catch mate.

You seem to have the Pine pretty well sussed out.

    Good work Freedom,
I miss the Pine now that I'm based on the GC. 7 flatties off the yak on Indie weekend so can't complain ;-)

    Keep up the good work.
