I read in this mornings paper where 2 tagged bass from a malaney dam were recaptured about 250k away at tinana weir growing 40 or50 mm in 4 years but going over a 36m dam wall and at least 2 weirs to breed in the salt and come back into the weir
Extract from Suntag news.Note the very slow growth rate.
Cheers

Every now and then a recapture comes along which
seems improbable and some aspect of the accuracy of
the details provided is questioned. However when 2 very
similar recaptures are reported by different fishers which
confirms the other then the chances of something being
wrong twice diminishes significantly. These are a good
example.
Both Bass were tagged in Lake Baroon near Maleny in
the hinterland behind the Sunshine Coast. They then went
over the dam wall into Obi Obi Creek, then into the Mary
River. From there they went downstream and over the
Mary River barrage into the saltwater. From there they
negotiated the barrage on Tinana Creek and moved
upstream into the freshwater again as far as Teddington
Weir.
