    Monduran charters?

Hi, was wanting to get my brother and old man into a few barra at monduran over the xmas break (fingers crossed).

Have left it to the last minute but was wondering if someone could pm me a good local guide that isn't going to break the bank, there'll be 3 of us fishing and we just wanted to do a one day (8 hours hopefully) hit and run mission from the goldy.

Am asking alot but am hopefull as the old man needs a break, any affordable ones would be great.

    Cheers

    Damo

    Cool Re: Monduran charters?

Why don't these blokes just put the cost of charters on their home page?

There's heaps of pics, testimonials etc. and most enquirers like Damo here want to know simply what does it cost.

How hard can it be? Either you can afford it or you cannot.

Hi Daryl i agree but i think they may be afraid someone will undercut them if they advertise the 1 price on there website if someone rings up they may be a bit more flexable with pricing ect

Monduran is a big dam go with a guide if you can it takes out the guess work. Or wing it and take ya chance on finding the fish straight up.Ring Rob Wood nice bloke only meet him once at the boat ramp the next time I go to Monduran the Mrs and I will book a trip with him for sure. Cheers Gav

    Re: Monduran charters?

Hi Damo good luck on your trip mate.

Rob at the caravan park was around the $40 per hour marker and flexible on hours as he is the park manager. This would be the best option to keep costs down.

Mid range for lake guiding fee's is around $350-$450 for 6 hours fishing for 1 person.

2 people on the boat is usually a pretty good way to go for the best value for money option. Some deals exist where you can pay in the high $200's region.
    Again check latest pricing.

Most expensive option is around $1000 from what i hear. Again confirm all figures as many are not printed so at times it's hard to get good info. 3 on the boat would be the better option here to keep costs down.

Paul Dolan put his clients onto a 124cm Barra on a trip to Mondy when i caught up with Nathan and some of the Monduran fella's for a spot of camping & fishing. As these guys said, he is on the ball and has fished Monduran since the early 2000's.

For a travelling angler, a guide is the best money we can spend in a year for our fishing to improve in the future, we get tips to pass down to our kids and grandchildred, and it helps us have a better chance at catching fish for the rest of our life, what price do we all put on that?

Tip: First day go out with a guide. Tell him you will be fishing there for the week so you are not fighting for positions on the dam with his clients over the next week etc. With this strategy you can chat about the weeks fishing while on charter and you can get a bit of a game plan and maximum value for money while working together with nice guides so they are not crowded for the rest of the week.

We are lucky we have some pretty good guides here in Qld. Make the most of them, the tips from one trip can be used over a lifetime. (Priceless)

Merry Xmas & A Happy New Year
    Cheers Lyndon.

    Re: Monduran charters?

Thanks to everyone for replying, from what I have researched I think that everyone has put their prices up I can't even find anyone thats below $750 for the day, spose it'll be worth it if we get a good one!

I'll report on the trip around the end of december.

    Cheers

    Re: Monduran charters?

Stillwater charters with Jamie is another option?

Paul Dolan has the runs on the board, and Rob at the park is right on the spot.
