Excellent Pete.........my problem with the beads is getting hold of a size big enough to go over the main hook and barb.......so I've incised the slickie just enough to allow the swivel or hawaiian clip to pass through......looks good with the beads though.

Be careful with your choice of terminal tackle ....... quality swivels are a must , along with the splits you use .. .... no different to how you upgrade your hbs - I'd hate to hear you loose a fish because the swivel parted or split opened up. ....... Just a thought
Another point is ...... if using a slick rig (pro light) in combination a treble stinger ..... those standard (weak) jig heads can be pulled open if you get a top & bottom jaw hookset This happened twice to me before I changed to using the backbone jig heads or some Matty Fraser specials

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Mate, wish it was my method, but I cheated off some one else.
That some one was kind enough to leave a moded slickie on the bank at Pepper between xmas and new years, I got out for a walk and cast, picked it up and put it in my pocket, and smacked a meter something off a point just up. There was no retaining bead etc on the original, and the fish was hooked on the stinger only, but Im useing a bit of tubeing now .
One thing I did notice was the further back you have the stinger, the more impact on tail action - DUH! Thats OK, I havent fished stingers before, so Im learning.
I went thru and moved some of my stingers forward, on the off chance that tomorrow I mite be hanging off a tree some where, pinging placs into 4 foot of water just as the sun goes down
Pulled a nice meter+ off the bank at Pepper on a hollow as well, dont they go hard when you cant chase them in open water!

Hey Chris, was referring to the beads as sure catch, trebles, swivels and splits all top of the range.

    Pete

some plastic milk bottle lid cut down can be a 'tight ass' way of a stopper instead of beads...I have used that..bit fiddly, but works.
