Camping Bribie Coastal camp
Anyone camped on the coastal camp section of the Bribie Rec. Area? Ive been on the EPA website and checked it out, regs etc, but would be good to hear some first hand info of what the camps are like etc. Also how far can you drive north on the beach?
Thanks

awesome campsites imo. usual beach camping though, be prepared for mozzies and sandflies and goannas and snakes and stuff. you not supposed to go further north than an old bunker that's down on the beach, you can't miss it.

Yes, very nice spot. Fishing is OK, not exceptional but you can pull the odd nice fish. Can also always drive over to the west side, which is all of about 5 minutes drive. I haven't seen many snakes there, but definitely flies, mozzies, marsh flies in about a couple of months time, scrub turkeys that will try to get into your garbage, and sometimes wallabies at dawn and dusk. No campfires unfortunately.

like sandbankmagnet says, the fishing is ok. there's not much structure along the beaches but good gutters form from time to time. i've had days when i've done alright and days when i've simply drowned a pippi, it's all good though. the better gutters seem to form up the north end and there's a bit of coffee rock and tree stumps up that way too.
