    Heavy spinning rod

    Hi all.
I have a Saltiga Expedition reel mated up to a Tcurve Deep Jig 400 with 80lb braid. This set up is nothing short of a machine for stopping big fish although I have found it loses the odd big Red Emperor due to lack of length in the rod.
I'm also interested in chucking poppers and the tcurve bluewater spin 15-24 kg or the tcurve GT special look great.
I wouldn't mind having a crack at making one myself to suit though so if anybody knows of a good quality blank that would suit the job and be similar (or better) than the above tcurve models it would be great.
Also if anybody can tell me where to get good parts (runners, thread etc) to do the job it would also be appreciated.
    Thanks, Mark.

    Mark,
If you want to build it yourself then you should talk to someone like Ross @ The Rodworks to organise the parts to suit the blank you choose.
I'm a big fan of Batson blanks and I reckon an RCLB70L or even ML or M depending on what you line weight you want will work for you.
I don't think anyone in Oz stocks them though so it's import only.

There's bound to be a dozen other brands & models that will fit the bill.
It's doubtfull you'll save any money building it, but it'll be exactly what you want.
    Cheers,
    Owen
