    Xmas at 1770

I am taking the family up to 1770 camping at Xmas this year for the first time. Just wondering if anyone was willing to provide some information on areas to try for fish. I only have a 5.1m cuddy cab with 120L fuel, so I wont be venturing to far wide. Any general information to get me started would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt

If you do a search on the " Search " button near the top of the page and type in " 1770 ", you will find many many pages of the sort of info you are after.

Further, if you go to the " offshore reports " or " Going Fishing " sections, there will be many hours reading.

    Good luck...

    Hi Beefa
What sort of fishing are you going to do and what size motor do you have on your boat.

    gday beefa,
there is a wreck not far off 1770 called the cetacia (i think) that members on here very generously gave me the gps marks for. we fished it for about an hour in shithouse conditions for not much luck but it did look very promising with very good shows on the sounder. i think off memory it may be 10km from 1770. good luck

Mull Dog, thanks for that, I will have to try that place out...

Rainbow, I am hoping to do some reef fishing (chase some spicies that we dont generally get in Moreton Bay, such as Coral trout, red emperors etc). Probably more hoping to catch then actually catch though.. I have a 2 stroke Yamaha 90 on the back of a 5.1m aluminium cuddy cab. Thanks, Matt

the wreck that was said above should actually be on your map on your chartplotter was for us any way. the shows on ya sounder were most likely trevally throw a jig over and u might get a couple good fighters for there size.

Call into the tackle shop on the way in, they will give you a few starting points.
