    Awoonga boat ramps

    Hi all,
I read somewhere that Awoonga has a new boat ramp near the caravan park. Can anyone confirm this? or are they just talking about the boat ramp below the caravan park office? (is it open to the public now?)
I havent been back there for I am a bit gunshy of puting the glass boat in on the old ramp if the wind gets up. Put a fair dent in my tinny last time I was up there.
    Cheers

    Re: Awoonga boat ramps

    Steve,
Unless there's been a change the ramp you are talking about is not open to the public.
You have to use the main ramp.
    Cheers,
    Owen

Cheers Owen. I figured that it was still a closed ramp to the public. Guess I will have to try Monduran then.

whats wrong with the main ramp? use it every week atleast 3-4 times, never done anyharm, pull 700kg boat out with commodore? no harms. about 30m of ramp in the water.... dont see the trouble

    Re: Awoonga boat ramps

    Hi PM,
Nothing wrong with the ramp itself, its a top ramp. But when we were there it was blowing like crazy and the mrs cant back the trailer or drive the boat, which means she has to try and hold the boat off the rocks around the ramp in strong wind while I back the trailer down. She couldnt do it with the tinny at 500kg, so she definately wont be able to hold the glass boat at around 1tn.
I have been trying to convince her to learn to drive the boat or learn to back the trailer, but she just wont do it.
I am thinking I might try and get her some backing lessons, as I have tried and havent had much success in teaching her.
