use both, but if I was to choose just one, it would be live worms every time.

Re: yabbies or worms
worms stay on the hook longer as they get yabbies off in 1 or 2 bites

Re: yabbies or worms
i like to use the smaller yabbies on a size 4 long shank with a tiny sinker casting up to the shallows for big summer whiting.
never been a big fan of large yabbies for whiting.
but you tend to get a lot more on worms especially the smaller 30-35 size.
remember that yabbies respond well to burley

Hi Ockoman, as with most things to do there are a few variables like location and time of day or night you fish.
Over the last few years all of the winning whiting caught in the local major comps have been caught on worms.
This brings up another question as there are at least 7 different type of worms but in my opinion bloodworms are the best for those really big whiting. cheers wayne.

mate,i grew up right on lota creek and use to fish where tinny and lota creek meet,i found that little yabbies best but like said above only really get 1 chance with yabbies as worms you get to feed them a bit b4 striking, but back 25yrs ago use to get plenty there now prob get 10 good whiting for a session,
cheers rosco
