tip number 1....dont wear any clothes that you intend to wear other than fishing.
tip number 2....always put them in a 10ltre bucket WITH A LID.

There are no sharp bits you have to watch out for...but if you manage to stick a finger near their mouth they can give you a nip...but you have to be trying REALLY hard for that to happen. Its the ink they squirt that is the pain in the ass. Cant help you with the where and when, I am northside.

    Top bait...and even better eating.

doesn't make a lot of difference where you are, Squid fishing is almost the same, find a suitable jetty or shoreline that has a bit of clean water in front of it (I prefer clean/clear) anywhere from 1 to 5 metres deep, fish late afternoon into the night, Squid jigs used with a very slow jerky retrieve will see you right, if you can find a jetty close to the Ocean that has a couple of lights on it, then all the better.

I dont think the sand pumping jetty is a spot where you can catch squid from, I have never caught them from this location in the past.

Do you need a boat for this or can they be caught from the bridge itself i.e. rod and squid jig from the bridge?
