g day all
have caught the fishing bug, have 2 very keen boys aged 6 plus 9.we land based, but i thought maybe we could get a little boat to put in some safe rivers(i cant swim)a guy offerred me one of these for $300.are they ok for my little team(yes id get all the safety gear etc)im not rich so need to take baby steps.would i need a little outboard?an roughly how dear r they.
regards john
mate would be ok, an a little 4 hp would be ok on it,be slow but beats rowing and you dont need to row, wouldn't be the most stable boat but would be a great starter boat for the creek,3 in it would prob be a it crowded but still doable, not sure on the outboard prices though i think a new 4 merc is bout 1100
cheers rosco
ps.u dont need to register or have a licence for a 4hp
the main thing with 'lighter' boats is they rock about a bit when you move around in it. Price is good. I personally would get swimming lessons, I couldn't imagine if one of your young blokes falls in and you are unable to aid him. good luck mate, all the best!!
