thats a Halco 190 in that yellow fins gob, looks like he is about 5 halco 190's long, would have been around the metre mark. so gutted we didnt get him in the boat.

Shlt that's a massive trout mate. Love those underwater pics too. How did you have the camera set-up? On a stick or rope?
That's a stonker trout ! Great fish.. on bait or lures ?
Did it go back in the water ? I'd be a bit concerned about ciguatera at that size
Love the underwater shots.. any video available ??

Had the go pro attached to the end of one of these paint roller poles. Got it from bunnings for $30 bloody handy for under water stuff.
I speared that trout, and yeah its a bit bigger than what I would have liked, wont spear one that big again, can be a bit hard to tell underwater though, I would rather take the smaller tastier ones.
I dont have good enough skills to upload video's as yet, but once I do I have about 50 sitting on my comp. Will try and edit a bit of a clip.
Gopro's take fishing to another level, when you get home you get to relive the trip again + see some under water action that is unreal.
Doh, you know that's a Blue-spot right? I'll leave it at that..
yeah I got a gear2go, $50 at kmart and works a treat.. I use a pole I've stolen of my wife's dustbin and brush, the type where the brush stands up, she hasn't noticed yet![]()

Went out for a fish yesterday afternoon after work for a couple of hours in the inlet. Manage to land 2 barra but saw quite a few more, one went 68cm.. also managed two jacks at 45cm and some smaller ones had a look.
Plenty of action all round really for around two hours of fishing.. came back in before the mozzies started too bad.. Zerek prawns, Xraps and transams did the damage..
Hi guys,
Have a few extra snapper lead sinkers from a session, selling them for $10 per kilo Cairns and tablelands areas only, so equates to just under $2.50 for an 8oz snapper lead. Better than the shops!
PM me if interested.
Must...go...fishing....soon....having...withdrawls .
Feeling your pain mate, going to resort to freedive training up at eacham this weekend, been over 2 months since we've gotten a good dive in. Pity we can't spear up there, clearing out some talapia would be good target practice between trips!
Thats good to know, i can't say i have seen any in there myself as we spend most of our time out in the deep just heard from other people but they may have been thinking of barrine. Will be spending some time searching for a barra in the shallows with the camera's this weekend so will take a pic if i see any, hoping i dont though.
Cheers
Nah, just a couple mates that I normally go diving with. We'll go up there if we can't get out to the reef for a while.
