    Mid Week Bay Action

The weather hasnt been good for a while now. And hadnt been able to get out on the water for about 6 weeks.

Headed out with reddybayfisher with some local structure and a bit of lucky dip on our minds. Happy to just be on the water really. But the carpark at our first spot quickly made us decide to ditch spots x and y, and head staight to z. And glad we did. Water and conditions looked great for some big snaps. First drift 1 undersize squire and a legal sweetlip (thrown back to grow bigger). 2nd drift 2 legal snaps, and a benito/small mac. 3rd drift, a bigger model sweetlip (also thrown back), 4th drift, all hell broke loose, reddys rod in the holder loaded up and drag started screaming with lots of weight behind it. As he handed me the rod he was currently holding, it loaded up and screamed off aswell. Lots of weight and big headshakes (60+ model) before busting the leaded cleanly aminute into the fight. Reddy landed his 52cm model.

Also got a whitting on a 5" jerk shad as a bycatch. It was quickly filleted and sent back down with big hopes. But... Not to be. The pecker picked it clean before any big snaps found it. So once again plastics outfished everything else. Caught about 8 squire all up. 5 legal 40,42,45,47,52. 2 sweetlip. 1 whitting and the benito (on a plastic) a new first. But only took 3 snaps and the tuna home. Great day and home by 11am. Nice thick healthy looking fish.

Used completely new and different coloured plastics than normal old faithful colours. And it seemed to turn them on.

You all know what snapper look like so no pics today.
