If you can catch live herring/ poddy mullet, I'd probably dangle a livie over the dropoff.

My estuary fishing techniques are limited, so maybe someone else can help Jeremy out with some pointers.

When fishing these type of spots I always head down on the low tide and gather bait. Crabs, worms bait fish what ever is in the area. That seems to work most times.

Chicken gut for bream down there works well. I have fished around the back boat ramp from the shore a few times the weather has been bad and always caught fish.

If you pick up a small aerator and clip it to the top of the bucket your livies should last 3 times longer than if you had no aerator.

Keep the water cool and use an aerator mate. Most fish die in the bucket from warm water. Freeze a water bottle and put it in the bucket and try to keep it in the shade.

prawns mate. I have always caught the most using prawns. Frozen or fresh doesnt seem to matter. Present them as naturally as possible for best effect. I use a paternoster style rig with a small size 6 long shank hook (or 1/0 baitholder or similar) and feed them on from just under the tail. Bit tricky but as mentioned, works great for bream, whiting, small flatties, tailor, and many others.
