    egg beaters and rods for barra

    Hey guys. im after ideas for some rods and reels to chase some land locked barra.
    they have to be spinning reels and some nicely priced rods nothing too expensive what are your thoughts. iv been looking at the tierra series of rods from daiwa they feel nice and have a great finnish for the price. with reels maby a sol 3000 or iv seen some daiwa red back reels that feel nice too.

    Cant comment too much on rods ( still looking for my ideal barra spin rod) - but the Sol 3000 would be a pretty good choice for your reel.

    must be a thousand reels that would suit a Barra type of fight, hardly going to make a 100 meter run at high speed, or last for hours.

    I have a sol 3000 that I use and have it matched to a team daiwa rod

    Berkley Tournament 6' Tropical Spin 6 - 10kg is a top barra rod for around $179...

    Matched it with a Daiwa Heartland 3000XA spooled with 30lb Tuffline...

    Do you have any idea of the size of the land locked fish, and also the lures you'll be throwing. If they are small fish and you'll be throwing small lures, you won't really need the type of rod the guys use for impoundment barra. The best bet is to match a rod to the weight of the lure you'll be using, don't worry too much about the fish until you get the lure to them.
