    GC Hinterland Bass

Last couple of weeks I have had 2 hits at a favorite spot up one of the Gold Coast creeks. So far in my short sessions over 3 visits I have always managed a bass there. Water is very shallow, rocky and weedy so surface or subsurface lures are the go.

It is very nice and relaxing to find a scenic, quiet spot to yourself just minutes from the rat race and the beach. Best fish went around 36cm. Sorry about the poor picture quality taken with my phone. Last week with the water running fast over the rapids I got 4 hits and 2 fish in 5 casts. It was my first experience of bass sitting up in an eddy off the main flow.

Lures this did the job this last 2 weeks were Mazy Pops and Water Mocassin. - cheers Richard

Nice hidden hole Richard. Surface fishing is certainly the go. I would happily take one on the surface to ten down deep.

    Thanks for the report

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Looks a ripper little spot Richard, I've been 'off the map' for a while but absolutely itchen to get into some local Bass, I've gotta spend some time to find some of these spots myself!!! Till then, I expect to be back at Hinze now it's reopened to try and get back in the groove, Cheers, Jamie.
