Brett,
can ya hang out till feb march next year??
Will have an EFI 50 Honda vailable then. Other than that.. that HP bracket is hard to find.
Gents,
I'm in the market for a second hand four stroke for a relly in Tassie. It's going on an old 15 foot 1973 fibreglass half cab (make unknown but from somewhere in SA). The boat currently has a 1973 Chrysler 40hp on it.
The boat is a majestic old thing and is in really fantastic nick for its age. Half cabs a really popular down their as lake trolling boats. When the weather sets in (which is often) they just jump up the front and troll around.
The boat currently doesn't plane and isn't really that heavy but the old motor is not doing it any justice.
The boat doesn't have a hull plate so where unsure of what the maximum HP is for the thing or what weight it could it take.
So the question I have on the more common four strokes, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki etc - are the 40s 50s and 60s essentially the same block. And if so would we be better off going with the 60 and the old girl might finally get on the plane.
Anyone know where a reliable second hand model is currently situated.
Brett
