Brissy River Thready virgin no longer!!!

We launched from Whyte Is at about 230 this morning, after hearing all these reports about Threadies in the river, we thought we would give it a go. We shot down to luggage point to gather some livies, and set ourselves up in the spot. We set ourselves up with a range of different baits and rigs, after about 10 minutes stewie (tracing em) says lets just give it another 5 minutes here, as he wasnt happy with our positioning, just as he finnishes saying that my rod almost doubles over with the the drag screaming.
I pick up my rod and set the hook, and some more long, strong runs, we call it for a threadie. As i start getting a little nervous as this is my first one, after a few more long powerful runs a magnificant golden threadie makes its way into the net. High fives all round we throw it on the brag mat and it goes 94cm, im as happy as.
Just as i start taking some photos and admiring the beauty, Stewies rod doubles over aswell. And its on for him aswell this one starts running long and wide. But after a few tense moments another golden threadie comes to the net. It goes 98cm on the mat and we both couldnt be happier.
Not long after the tide changes so we decide to shoot out to Mud where we catch a range of fish from snapper, tuskies, grassies.stay out there for a few hours, with not much going on we decide to call it a day and head home.
With my threadie virginity broken with a 94cm model i couldnt be happier, decided to take them home, to see what they are like on the chew, the meat looks nice and white cant wait to taste it. Cheers BK

Golden salmon is tastier than barra. Especially as yours hasnt been drowned in a net and sat in 28 degreee water for 4 hours.
