Gillies 4 piece 6wt 9ft rod reel and line $150 ish ?

I am just wondering if anyone has used one or had any experience with them ?

The price seems too good to be true, are they worth it for a beginner and casual angler or should I invest in something better first up ?

I started with an 8wt version of the same. They are ok to start with, but the line should be the first to be changed. I have now replaced the line and recently the rod to a GLoomis IMX and the difference is amazing, but will happily keep the old rod for visitors or a backup (just in case).

yeah im the same started with an 8 weight Gillies, practiced casting til i had it going ok then replaced the line, made a big difference, have been catching heaps of flatties been alot of fun , so now im about to spend the dollars on a new rod, they are a good place to start.
