We got a lot of rain in the pine river over night. Just wondering what you guys think all the fresh is going to do for fishing.
a) Improve it
b) Slow it down
c) Nothing
or
d) None of the above.

Hey BayDog it is a bit like that but i think the river has some potential for some good fish. I've seen some good bream and lizards pulled up from time to time.

The reports last weekend were that water quality in most SE qld estuary/ river systems has slipped. Listening to a portion of Nuggets Sat morning live show confirmed the findings.
After recent dust storms with tonnes of the red stuff sitting on our roofs is now washed down our drainage systems, combined with the usual amounts sediment and polution that affect water quality. I'd hate sounding like an eternal pessimist, but looking at what I have just highlighted does not look good. See how well our ecosystem bounces after another heavy blow.

heavy run off into the pinr usually puts a huge damper on the fishing for a couple of days at least!! but having said that ive had some completely nuts breaming sessions on the pine DURING heavy rain. fishing was slow till the rain started.
spots ive fished near petrie have not fired since the flood waters!!
try your luck and prove us all wrong!! im certainly taking the boat for a spin up the pine on the weekend!!
