    Navionics NavPlanner Difficulties

Can anyone please help as I'm new to this. After getting my CD Drive on my NEW computer fixed, I today installed NavPlanner, then attached the Navionics Gold Card in the MultiCard Reader into the USB Slot. Tried to open charts to have a look but got a message saying that my computer didn't have a program that could open the files. Has anyone any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fire up navplanner first, then choose then choose the option to open a map. I cant give you exact info at the moment cause I have no power here and am using a work laptop.

You have to guess which map to open with navplanner, as it does not tell you what filename is what region.

Sounds like Windows is trying to autorun an app on the card, which will fail.

Click cancel or close on the Window you see,

Open the navplanner software, from the file menu select open, change the drive letter to your card reader, browse to the Navionic\Charts folder until you find the following file 8G136xl.nv2 (Brisbane).

    Honda.

With the helpful advice of yourself and Honda 900 I've managed to open the charts. Thanks guys. The next thing I need to learn is how to save the GPS marks I wish to put in on my PC and then transfer them to my new Lowrance HDS-7m. I've read in the forums that you shouldn't try to save to the Navionics card, that you should save to an empty SD card and THEN transfer to your GPS unit. Any advice would be much appreciated especially if you can put it into simple steps like 1, 2, 3... for a newie like me to all this!
