    assistance with 1770

    Hi all
I have a mate flying up from southern NSW next week for 9 or 10 days of fishing and as the guy works hard all year i want to try put him onto some action during his only break for the year. I live at bundy but the fishing has been dismal inshore however I know a few good fish are being caught around 1770, i guess it will be a matter of time before it fires down here but unfortunatly my friend may be back at work by then
Im taking him barra fishing for the 1st 4 days and Im thinking of driving up to 1770 for a day or 2.
We would be hopeing to find species like mckeral and tuna or trevally but we are restricted in that the boat is a only 4.4m boat that resembles a hornet.
Im wondering wether the boat will be able to enter the sea via the river there or will i have to worry about dodgy bar crossings?
Dont want to know anyones secret spots, if i make it out to the sea ill find some spots no probs but has anyone got any good reports from recent trips inshore?
Also the river that runs behind the main headland where most launch the boat, is it worth a fish? any hazards i need too be aware of?
Any info would help and thanks for your time!

    Hi
We (myself and Apollo) did the m&g up there and if the weather co operates then you may be able to poke outside. You can troll around the headland and you never know what you may pick up. We got a black about 3 or 4 mile out and a nice spanish about 300m off the bar.

    STH,

Just got back from 1770 this arvo. The odd spanish is around, but are hot & cold. No spottys that we heard of. We only collected bait in close & you would know that if there's bait, it's a good sign. Plenty of tuna with the bait, all 1K outside the bar. There is a good trawler wreck 6K out that holds good trevs, tuna, kings etc.

    Good luck.

    Dan.
