    Eagle fishmark 320, any good?

    Hi all,

My wife purchased an Eagle fishmark 320 on Ebay for me to use in the old Haines. Has anyone got one, or seen these units in action? She got it for $285.

It seems to have the same features as the Lowrance, actually it says Eagle fishfinder by Lowrance? Only a lot cheaper. I was going to go for a much more expensive unit, but the deed's done now.

    Thanks to all in advance,
    Rob

I am using an Eagle Fishmark 320 on my boat mate. I think it is actually an older Lowrance branded model.. but Eagle is owned by Lowrance anyway.

But to the point, it is a good sounder. Has a few less pixels than the next model up but it is still far better than any of the other basic B&W models out there. I can readily pick up most fish and even the bait on my hook with no trouble. I'd buy another one in a flash if the budget didn't stretch for something more expensive. In fact, I had the option to buy a color sounder with 480+ pixerls not long ago but didn't feel I needed to.

You will be happy with it I am sure. Just learn to read them properly if you don't know already. You could have a Lowrance HDS but if you dont know what you are looking at, they are as useless as a weekend newspaper's fishing report

Thanks for the info BaitThrower, I know how to read them. Looks like i've saved a few bucks then as I was looking at the HDS before the mrs purchased the Eagle.

    All the best,

one of those came with the new tub...and it isn't at all bad.

reasonably easy to drive, big screen ( for a cheap sounder) and seems to have enough res and sensitivity.

seems to me its about as good as it gets in a mono sounder.

    cheers
Its the details, those little details, that make the difference.

Robbo, I run both the 320 & the 480 in my tinnie, which is an estuary / breaming rig. I use them for sounding out structure as well as looking for bait schools & mid - top water schools of fish (salmon trout to us crow eaters). I have trouble telling the two apart as far as resolution is concerned. I'd have no problem buy either of the two again & will only consider a different unit if it were a plotter combo. Otherwise I see no need to replace either or doubt my decision on their purchase.

Reckon they are good, reliable, & cheap electronics.

I have a 480 Fish Elite sounder plotter combo and find it to be great for the price ,so far no problems with it.

Coonta, charge your batteries up. They are a little low according to the sounders

Well, I'd buy a HDS any day if I had money to burn, but since I don't the 320 suits fine LOL
