Has anyone been up here in a private boat? I'll be in an inflatable, and the only ramp I can see at this stage would be on the south bank, just upstream of the cable ferry.
To be honest, crocs scare the living hell out of me, what's the etiquette apart from caution and common sense when they're around?

There is 2 boat ramps, there is one at the township where the river boats take tourists for rides and the other is just upstream of the ferry.
As for the croc's they will only annoy you if you swim in the water or basically try and feed them or give them a limb to grab if u place it in the water, i have fished the daintree river for 20 years now and have seen thousands but never had a problem with them.

As Neil said - you shouldn't have a problem with the crocs - just don't do anything silly like danlging you legs in the water or wading to throw the castnet etc. pretty much if you stay out of their way they'll stay out of yours. Never had an issue with them in 30+ years. (mind you there's twice as many now as there was years ago.... and big too!!)

Crocks have etiquitte? As dumb tourists my wife and I went on the "No Crocodiles Today" cruise up there in 2004 -- and the guy keeps saying -- after we've paid, of course, "Oh it's really a general wildlife cruise, we don't always see crocks."

I have worked at Croc parks and they are unpredictable animals mate. I will not get in a boat smaller then about 3.5 meters in Croc waters but I am a skirt
I saw a bloke head up the Endeavour with a kid that would not have been older than 3 years old. He was in a yacht tender (2.4 meters with a 2 hp Honda). In all honesty he MAY have had 250mm between the waterline and the top of the boat. If he is ignorant enough to do that then so be it but to put his kid in that situation is plain irresponsible.
Accidents do happen, I know I fell out of the boat in the Noosa river when I was on holidays once. I also had a mate fall off the casting platform of my old boat up here in Cooktown. Lucky for him it was 15 miles out to sea.
I have attached a few photos that Nic posted on here a few months ago. A rare occurrence but not one I would want in an inflatable.

Clarification, the boat is a thundercat, 4.1 cat with a 50.... they move.
Have suggested it to the lady and she's not keen on the inflatable + croc thing but i think i'll sway her
