    gday

    just looken for some advice on a sounder for my canoe. should i go for a cheap one or exspencive one or can anyone reckomend one all the help would b great cheers

    Go for the most expensive you can. Colour would be the ultimate, as it has great image separation.

    As for what some of my fellow kayak fishos are using...Cuda 168, Cuda 300, Lowrance 50DS, some have gone for the Humminbird 383C.

    Ya gotta ask yourself what type of water you'll be using it in (ie. shallow or deeper locations). Having a sounder with dual-beam would be more helpful to you than single beam - particularly in shallow waters as you'd get more coverage of the water under your canoe.
