Planning a trip in the near future to Double Island Point. Want to launch off the beach on the Rainbow side. Did it with the old-boy as a kid, and really keen to give it a go again.
Couple of questions i'm hoping Ausfishers might assist with:
Current beach conditions.
Headland track condition.
Restrictions on launching and parking on rainbow beach.
Damo, beach conditions are good - wide and flat at low tide. Cuttings have been soft but good storm this morning and hopefully more this arvy/tomorrow will finally firm them up a bit. 2nd cut with a boat would be best irrespective and Leisha Track shouldn't be an issue even if dry providing correct tyre poundage and gear selection. No restrictions re launching and parking and the lagoon is excellent for launching in atm. Just no camping permitted and QPWS have been policing this of late.
