    Those are great figures baitable.
Did you get a manual or auto?
Have auto boxes come far enough to be a superior off-road alternative?
IMHO, you have enough feet to brake and change down the gears and even at the same time on occasions . If the car starts to slip, ease up a bit on the loud pedal.
Cars today are built too much for the idiot factor with all the gadgets there to get you out of trouble that most times, you got yourself into

I got a 2007 Ssangyong Actyon dual cab 4x4 for $30k drive away two years ago and havent looked back since, parts are easy to get and services are reasonably priced.

They are well worth the look, ugly maybe the first thought but when you drive one from Townsville to Sydney and back via the inland route you will be very suprised at the comfort and economy that they provide
May the winds blow lightly upon your sails
May the seas buffet gently upon your hull
May your chiller be full of piscatorial delights

i am waiting on mine to arrive in the next week and a half, 2.5l looks like a great engine and with the VARIABLE GEOMETRY TURBO should be a top tow rig, i got the auto as i think most of the larger 4wds with dual mas flywheels will only have problems soon enuf. And the missus cant drive a stick!! not that she will get to drive it much but driving hols will be easier so we can share the load.

i will post report once it arrives. cheers Lee

Go do a search on triton problems. Prepare to crap yourself. They have had many problems with this vehicle. That's why there are so many on the market. Having said that my d40 navara is a POS also. Buyers beware.

I was talking to a mechanic at westco motors in Cairns today and asked him which way I should go as my Navara is out of warranty in March. Westco do Mazda as well as Nissan but he also has good friends who are mechanics at toyota and Isuzu. The hilux has had numerous issues and he said without any biased that the first rule is to make sure the ute is made in Japan.

Since the D22 went to the 2.5 they have had 2 back with problems out of hundreds sold. Isuzu are apparently very good too ,and the Colorado is merely a re-panel of same. He said Mazda's Bt50 has vibration issues with any suspension upgrade, the hilux has transmission issues and believe it or not "leaking windscreen issues" which toyota haven't been able to pinpoint in some of the vehicles.

A mate of mine in Townsville bought a triton and it has throttle issues in the computer. Not sure exactly what it is but google it and it will come up. The new face lift of the triton may have rectified the issue. I'd steer clear o the first one of this shape. After my issues with the Navara (first build) I'd offer that advice to everyone. Wait for a facelift. They usually iron out the bugs.
