So what the go got diagrams step by step fomulars for attaching those bloody leaders to braid so they dont fly or fall off

Barra gripes??

Tied off and fishing a point with a mate, and having 2 blokes in a tinny cruise thru the cast alley as they worked the bank - no bloody idea.

Leader knots??

Your just hopeless mate, pray for the day they come up with a velcro leader to braid attachment thingy.

Mate i tie a modded slim beauty.

1. Make a double granny and pull it tight until it forms a figure 8.
2. Pass braid tag end through each of the loops.
3. Wrap braid around leader 5-7 times, then wrap if back down again over the previous wraps 5-7 times
4. Pass braid tag end back through the same way you originally came through.
5. Pull leader snug but not to tight
6. Pull braid tight till its tightens up.
7. Pull leader and braid tight ( use gloves ).
8. trim off tags and away you go.

I also use a PR knot that I use for jigging.

Both knots have been used in 130-150lb leaders and have not failed. The secret is in how you tie it and tension the knot on larger leaders.

Now time for a whinge. I want to catch a big barra and a good Jack

As long as your knots hold on a fish Nath....that's what counts Looks like Trev is trying to cut in on a dance with Prinny If it's any consolation, Vin ties the worst (okay...second worst) knots known to man and woman but still produces corker barra.

Maybe you two should form your own club.....Dodgy Knots Inc....all grannies welcome

I am off tonight to catch that big barra for you on that 2 m rise we found in the main basin last trip you know the one we sounded that rises from about 17m to 2 m i will be hitting it tonight about 8pm hopefully

Just remeber there is also another part I forgot to add to the knot.

When you pass the braid through there is only one way you should do it.

The braid should exit through the second loop of the figure 8 and the braid should never pass over the loop of the figure 8 to begin the first wraps on the leader. When the braid exits the second loop it should begn to start wrapping on the leader.

On the things that pee me off, Gaffs I hate them and they should be banned on inland water ways... I have see the meato's swing fish into the water with them and holding fish up by the jaw ....

You would think over the coming years this method will fade out, along with boat rods with TLD's or 8000 style reels attached to them....

I don't know about cheeses me off, but I have bought a stern light to put on me tinny because those lunatics in the fast boats that come back at night at hundred miles an hour (because they can ) do concern me.

If they clobber a tree and smash the boat or prop fair enough but when I think I am doin good in me tinny at 30K with the flood light on the front then Woosh! no warning and Les or Ren or Trev etc. fly past at warp speed I can't help thinking Holy Crap! I hope those mad bassards see me in me tinny.

At least Steve has head lights. No doubt they know the track well enough but I don't fancy being a ski jump .
