    G'day,

Shop around before you spend the hard earned. New business is like gold for lots of manufacturers at present.

Call Belco, FMS and Swiftco because they will deal direct and see major dealers like Cunninghams and Northside because they have good product ranges.

Don't skimp on the details to save a buck. If its a glass boat put lots of rollers under it and a rear guide to help drive it on centred.

    All the best.

The trailer is currently lifted up on the skids and off the keel rollers, it actually had some stand underneath it too but i removed them for the photos. I am in the process of fixing up the hull so that it can be painted.

I purchased the boat for 6.5k and it has been a project which I have poured a fair bit of money into. The trailer is a 1987 Roadmaster and yes I agree I think it was designed for a aluminum boat because it is almost impossible to get the thing off the trailer without dipping it a fair whack in the water and floating it off. Not good for my sedan

I am located in Perth and as such my trailer manufacturer options are a little limited. Trailers sure as hell are overpriced here and unfortunately with boat gear I dont find anyone all that desperate for my business.

This multi roller is locally made for $2850

Another which is a fram with skids is $2080

Then there are the dunbier etc which are nice but over 3k

Does anyone else find it strange that my 1990 model boat has a 1987 model trailer under it? hhmmmm

Another option to consider if you want to give yourself some breathing space before buying a 2.5 or 3k trailer...

(although I ended up finding a trailer on it's own for $300 - did up the running gear, and it's still great after 2 years).

I looked on ebay at boats under $500, a number of them had trailers under them in reasonable nick. Old bondwoods, glass boats full of rot etc. Admittedly I didn't have to face the issue of disposing of a hull...

    Good luck
