I dont fish for flatties with plastics but see a lot of guys tossing plastics around the flats on North Ck. If you get jack of the plastics there are plenty of yabbies there and you will find whiting, flaties, bream and some line burning rays. The spot you have mentioned i am pretty sure is the VMR tower on the north wall. It may be a bit hard to fish plastics there land based as the tide pushes through and it is deep. If you go over to Sth Ballina on the ferry and head to Mobs Bay you may be in with a chance as well but that place is better with a boat or yak. No idea what plastics work best as i dont use them.

back in the very wet seaon of winter, i had success with plastics from the wall at the entrance to the boat harbour. four big flathead, and 2 bream. was the runout, middle of day and plenty of current flowing.

excellent fish cleaning facilities at the boat ramp just near the small bridge.

I don't think it matters where you are fishing, Flathead are Flathead and will be found in the same sort of areas in any creek in any location, think like a Flathead and you will catch them anywhere.
