    Rod for younger brother

Hey all, finally getting my new soft plastics combo on monday. My younger 11 year old brother has found out I am getting a new rod so now he will want one. Haha anyway what is a cheap shimano rod that he could use for soft plastics. My budget for him is about $90.00 for a rod.
    Cheers

Why a shimano? There are plenty of good rods from other brands in that price range.

As Chamelion said - There's plenty other good rods out there in that price range, why not have a shop-around? Though if you prefer Shimano gear use it.

On regards to your question, there's one rod by Shimano in that price range which I'm rather happy with; The Shimano Super Sonic, it was my first soft plastics rod and landed me some good fish.. They retail for around $50-$60 and are well worth the money.

Be sure to let us all know what you choose.

    Thanks Tom

I would check out the pflueger stuff the trion I think it is isn't a bad rod for that price. I love shimano's and am more than happy with my 3 raiders, thats personal preference but have used others just as good. I just like the finish on them.

Plenty of good rods out there, i'd go to a tackle shop where the guys know what they're talking about, Charltons is pretty good.

If you look at Pfluegers, check out ebay. My mate recently bought a pflueger president 2-4kg and it's a sensational rod.

Trion is a good recommendation. But the Starlo stix are pretty good too. BC* have them for around your price range.

If i had to pick one i would take the Trion though.

But certainly not the trion over the president.. That would be like buying a Sahara over a fireblood.
