Just had a look mate, cant see it....Hummock Hill is an island and as far as I know it never dries out in the surrounding creeks. The boys may be right for a change, maybe your mistaken for Wild Cattle?

I've fished around Gladstone and offshore for 30 yrs so I know Wild Cattle Island, Hummock Hill island and Hummocky Island. Have a closer look as the Google earth photo wasn't taken at low tide.

I'm sure thay are as all fishermen are good. I will pass as it will mean camping overnight and camping on the ground is not in my short list now.
I was down at Hummock Hill about 4 mths ago as we were dropped off on the point by barge and had to take 4 4WD's up to the middle of the island where they were having a big publicity thing for a new proposed development . We were dropped off a high tide and had to negotiate the beach at just below high tide and we came back by boat to the Wild Cattle Creek boat ramp (just). The 4WD's came back later via the causeway
Following my post I don't know if there are any gates as it is all private property.

    Have one for me.

    Re: Gladstone...it Must Be Time

DNO (Cq Hornet) is due back today I think. I look like pulling out at this stage as I have organised to interview a possible candidate for a position I have going and he gets back on a plane on Saturday arvo. Couldnt wait around for you lot all day. Low tide at 1.30 and I need at least 1.3-1.4 to get in. I may try and get in around 5ish. Will have to see how it all goes.
