How far in XX boat.. across the atlanic

We often see questions about would XXX boat be ok to go off shore.. or the bay etc..

2 US guys.. what a surprise.. are crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a Dreamboats Intruder 21' Flats Boat - a small, open fishing boat (no cabin, no keel) that is able to operate in two inches of water.???

Just insane !!!

Hardly the boat i would like to be in an Atlantic blow with 50knott winds and 7m of swell.

Its not really crossing it if you just skirt around the edges with multiple stops (according to their chart) Still a long trip never the less.

Have a google for the two guys (one Australian and one French) that did it some time ago on a Hobie 18. Saw the Australian fella do a presentation on the trip a few years back.

The arrived at the other end looking like skeletons and covered in ulcers and one required skin grafts
