Boating from hervey bay to fraser safe?

Hi all,
heading up to hervey bay for work next week and have convinced the boss to put me up for 2 weekends.
So i,ve decided to tow the boat up (4.2m tinnie) for a spot of fishing.
Just want to know if it would be safe enough to cross from hervey bay to fraser and fish in between on the western side, and possibly swag it on fraser for a night or so.
any help would be good

Mate the tinny will be no problem up there, its just a case of watch the weather as it can blow up pretty nasty when there is any sort of northerly wind. The boat harbour at Urangan is a good spot to launch from and you can access places like Wathumba Creek to camp overnight. Just be mindful of the distances up there as its a long row home so carry plenty of fuel. Its a magnificent part of the world to go boating but just be VERY aware of the weather as its not where you want to be if it blows up nasty. Your tinnie will be fine you lucky mongrel !

Great Sandy Straights are nice place to fish, good variety, scenery, and some nice creeks for the pots. You will need to just keep an eye on the wind as stated above as there are some nice open spots to get a bit lumpy at times.

Dont know about the sleeping out overnight business though, can be a lot of sandflies and mozzies around at night.

Plus, Wouldn't want to lose any toes, they reckon there's crocs up there now.

Could also try putting in at River Heads.

should be fine mate, like the others stated watch the northerlies and it can get a bit chopy when heading in and out of urangan harbour if the tide and wind r in opposite directions, this can b like this untill u reach fraser.
heres a few spots that were past on to me. although i never did get a chance to fish any, untill next time im up that way.
