Sounder Current Draw

Hey Folks,

I have a Nanman 6600 and am trying to determine how much current it draws. Does it draw emough to be concerned about leaving the sounder on when I am stopped. Could this flatten a battery. I know that it is 600 watts but surely it does not draw 50 amps.

Anyhow would appreciate any advice.

unless someone here has a manual and can tell you straight out, i'd be looking on the northstar website and downloading a data sheet, it should be on there somewhere.

600 Watts.......I don't think so.

don't get confused with power consumption and power output.

sounders only put out relativly short pulses....then wait to hear it back......they ping............so even though the machine may be rated as XXXwatts.....the power consumption can be quite low.

you have your answer above.

If you are looking in the manual look for power consumption.

if you do not have a manual or other source....look at the fuse size....the power consumption will usulay be much less than the fuse.
